Looking back at 2019

I love doing these year in reviews, as it’s a great way to compile everything and realize how much you’ve accomplished.

The year 2019 is seems very lucky for me and my family. Main reason for that is because finally I got my first job. Let’s take a look at what I accomplished this year:

They always say time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself.

Dev Projects + Content Production

I started working on Github this year constantly. I made 950 contributions, and launched the following side projects this year:

  • Google Gifts: Google Gifts is a list of some interesting website of Google.
  • A little Web : ALittleWeb.org is a nonprofit community
  • Dummy CLI : This is a dummy CLI. I made with Javascript

Apart from that I get merged more than 10 Pull requests on github. I’m also working on a Frontend-APIs, and have some more guides and small projects in mind for next year.

Dev Events and Meetups

This is the most beautiful part of this year. This year I attended 25+ Dev Events and Meetups with more than 8 communities and interact with some great people those are become good friend, mentor or so forth. Somehow my job is also a gift of my community driven nature.

In those events most of times I lead my team and get appreciation from my inner soul. I think communities are awesome. Everyone has to explore his passion with some local community. And not your passion some time cross your limits is also helpful. Meetup.com is a great way to find a community in your area..

This year I participate in some good Hackathons and coding competitions:

  • Hacktoberfest 2019: Hacktoberfest is open to everyone in our global community!
  • MLH’s Local Hack Day : MLH’s Local Hack Day is events designed to spark a passion for technology in your local community.
  • Designathon by Amity University

Life Thing

This year I’ve tried to diversify my content stream by starting a new Opensourse community alittleweb.org, and being much more active on Instagram. It’s been a fun challenge to explore new interests on these mediums, and I like the idea of not being tethered to one content stream and exploring interests outside of tech.

I started explore myself by writing poems, couplets. I’ve been continuing to maintain 3 Instagram accounts, here are some posts from each based on likes:

A little Web : ALittleWeb.org is a nonprofit community dedicated to shape the future of the Web and use it to enrich people’s Lives, Education, Community, and the Environment.

Paigaam-e-Ishq : This is a platform to share all your emotions through hymns and poetry.

My work has been recognized by GDG New Delhi and the featured my work in DevFest19.

Goals for 2020

In 2019, I had a lot of ideas and explored new interests and platforms. I really like that about myself and my past year, but what I also did was second guess a lot of what I was putting out there, and was in my own head too much about it. Next year, I want to live my best life and not apologize for it or second guess myself. Life’s not that serious, so I’m ready to go into 2020 giving fewer fucks and making more things.

I’ve been thinking a lot about goals for next year, and how to keep them actionable + myself accountable. So for each goal, I’m going to think about a plan for success. I made personal goals made public 🙂 here.

So that’s all for now. I’m going to do some more thinking about next steps with project and video ideas, and if there’s anything you’d like to see from me, comment below!
